1st Day of School

Today was Will's first day of the school year. He attended a week of summer camp at his school to help with adjusting and he was begging to go back. Needless to say we are hopeful for growth of his self confidence this year. I'm thankful that Lu is so hell bent on going to a playground every time we leave the house that she wasn't terribly concerned about leaving Bruhby at school this morning.

Linvilla Orchard Peach Festival

Hi! *awkwardly laughs*  Let's just blame my total disregard for my blogging goals on our binge watching of Game of Thrones and move on. Or we could be real and blame it on me being on the struggle bus and completely melting down warranting my mom coming up to save me. Or both. Anyway, here I am, still in one piece and doing much better.

Lu turned two! The week before we went to the library and just in time for the weekend we got violently ill. So our celebration was pretty tame. She helped make funfetti cupcakes early in the morning and we went to the aquarium. Then we ate at Shake Shack since she lives for their cheese fries.

I teased about a blog post when we went to Linvilla Orchard's Peach Festival. I am still kind of laughing about the expectation vs the reality of picking fruit. I think it took us about 10 minutes to pick 10 pounds of peaches. In my mind it was going to take longer, but the day was hotter than anticipated so it wasn't a letdown. The kids enjoyed it and an orchard definitely meets the family outing requirement of room to run. Overall it was fun and the peaches were delicious, but picking fruit that can be super squishy has been put to the top of my list of things I don't really want to do again.

Don't Call it a Comeback, I've been on Instagram for Years

What's up, party people?! I mentioned to a few people that I might dust this thing off, and they were so thrilled with the prospect I just couldn't let them down.

Here we are in Philadelphia. I honestly didn't remember that I even blogged when I was in New Orleans. I wanted to start blogging again for a few reasons. One is to challenge myself to use my camera. Another reason is to force myself to write about our adventure here. There are about 5 people who pay attention to anything I post on Facebook. I think it was my brother who said that posting on Facebook was like shouting into the wind. So this just feels like a better platform. I don't remember what the other reason was since I was interrupted by a toddler yelling "change poop" when I started this post a couple days ago.

Michael started work yesterday so we had a week of multiple IKEA trips and time to explore our neighborhood. We have some great parks within walking distance and there are plenty fun summer things going on in the city! I think we're adapting well to city life.

For fear of getting the TL;DR response, I'll end this post here. We don't have internet access yet (long boring Comcast story) so I'm writing from my phone. I'm aiming for one post a week at least. Hopefully we'll be up and running soon.
